Membership fees: £35 /year for Student members. The club is primarily for students but is open to community members as well.
Membership fee will cover you for everything you need to start practicing kendo. This means you will be borrowing club equipment until you can buy your own. If you decide to continue practicing with us, you will need to buy your own set of clothing (Gi & Hakama).
If you would like to drop in to observe a session, you are more than welcome. You can let us know beforehand by contacting us here.
Junior Classes
Childrens classes run from 7.30-8.30pm at the Welsh Institute of Sport, Sophia Gardens, Cathedral Road in the Fitness Studio on Tuesday Evenings.
Initial joining fee: £20 - which will get you a shinai (bamboo kendo sword) - this covers the calendar month of joining as well.
Membership fee: £10 /month. Please note: Parents will need to register online with the British Kendo Association on behalf of their child. A 3-month trial membership will cost £10. For more information regarding the BKA membership, please visit their website.
We do ask that a parent or guardian is in attendance for the full hour of the kendo session as this avoids any complications once the session has finished in regards to having someone there to take the children home or look after them.
